JACKIE JOYNER-KERSEE
CSEP is proud to announce the latest
addition to our athlete client roster -
Olympic legend Jackie
Joyner-Kersee. The six-time
Olympic medalist was named by Sports
Illustrated as The Greatest Female
Athlete of the 20th Century and has gone
on to equally remarkable accomplishments
in philanthropy and social advocacy.
GLEE
BMX superstar Terry Adams
has pretty much done it all on
his bike. Add appearing on the hit TV
show GLEE to that ever-growing list.
Terry was in LA last week for a grueling
day of filming for the flagship episode
that will air immediately following the
Superbowl.
RED BULL BARGE
Now that he's done with GLEE, Terry Adams will spend the week performing as part of the Red Bull Barge Spin. It's a five-day journey on a floating BMX park off the Eastern coast of Florida. Starting in Fort Lauderdale on December 11, the barge will float down the Atlantic to Miami until December 15th.
FREE-STYLE SKIING
After entering the 2010 Olympics as the
reigning World Champion, Patrick
'The Rocket' Deneen's
go-for-broke approach to skiing resulted
in a dramatic, dream-crushing fall that
knocked him out of the competition.
Deneen has had a long time to stew over
that event and last weekend put it all
behind him with a crushing gold medal
winning performance at the opening World
Cup of the free-style ski season. The
Rocket is back on top!
LUGE WORLD RECORD
Long time veteran of the US National
Luge Team Christian Niccum
got it done last week...setting an
unusual world record in the sport for
the longest period of time between
podium finishes. Niccum's bronze
medal at the World Cup in Winterberg,
Germany was a full twelve years after
winning a world cup gold medal in Latvia
in 1998. Niccum's remarkable
commitment to the sport has outlasted
six different teammates, including
CSEP's Patrick Quinn who teammed with
Niccum in the prelude to the 2006
Olympics.
SPEEDSKATING - Long Track Olympic silver medalist Jonathan Kuck added a pair of World Cup medals to his growing collection, both of them gold. In the team pursuit event, Kuck took top honors first in Berlin, Germany, then again in Hamar, Norway. That's three medals for Kuck this season.
SPEEDSKATING - Short Track Katherine Reutter was at it again, this time in Changchun, China. Different place, same result...gold medal for Katherine. That's her sixth World Cup medal this season after just three events!
